Oops, forgot to post these ones from a hike in the Olympics last month... I've been trying to cross things off the "Things to do while not climbing due to shoulder injuries" list, and checking out the Olympic peninsula was one of them. The Enchanted Valley trail follows the east fork of the Quinault River for about 13.5 miles to a beautiful sub-alpine meadow (complete with abandoned chateau) high in the river valley. While not overly dramatic (except for the end) or strenuous (as the trial gains only about 1500 ft) it made for a nice weekend trip from Portland. I only wish we had more time to hang out.
